Recently a Facebook friend came up with an idea that totally kicked my ass. Even if you never watched Seinfeld, there’s a pretty good chance you’re familiar with the George Costanza character. And if you HAVE watched Seinfeld, you’re no doubt familiar with the Timeless Art of Seduction shtick, which eventually became a meme and then an actual product! So what did this friend do that kicked my ass? On a lark, she created a group called Let’s Costanza, and gutsily got the ball rolling with her own hilarious George Costanza poses. People immediately got the idea, but mostly posted pictures of OTHER people. Or their cats. HOW CONVENIENT! Although I’m not sure the world is ready for me posing seductively in boxers, I was confident that I would come up with a self-portrait to prove how comfortable I am poking a little fun at myself. Well, that was TWO WEEKS AGO. So much for my go get ’em attitude and willingness to poke fun at myself! As you can see, for now I’ve talked our official spokesmodel into posing. But the fact is that this simple challenge – taking a goofy picture of yourself to share a laugh with friends – threw me a clever little curveball that tested my willingness to just loosen up and DO SOMETHING. In the twenty minutes it took me to Photoshop the image here, I could have POSED FOR IT MYSELF. That is, if I hadn’t been SITTING ON MY ASS. But be warned, the ensuing complaints about the horror of my alabaster form in boxers may get your group banned from Facebook.
